Many fans of the original XCOM series of strategy games were perplexed and/or angry when the series reboot was announced as first-person shooter. Well, XCOMmies, today is your lucky day. A second XCOM title, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, was announced this morning, and it will be a full-on strategy game developed by the masters of the genre, Firaxis Games. Firaxis are the company responsible for the legendary Civilization series, so I don't think I'm alone in predicting big, big things. The word comes by way of Game Informer; the magazine will feature XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the cover of its next issue, that will delve into the game's "destructible tactical environments, the interaction between the real-time strategic view and the turn-based combat, how the XCOM organization improves its capabilities as the war rages on."Read More?
